Applications are invited for a post-doctoral study associate in Presymbiotic Signalling to work with Prof Uta Paszkowski at the Crop Science Centre, beginning in between 1 October and 1 November 2025

The advantageous communication of plants with endomycorrhizal fungis starts through shared recognition in the rhizosphere. We determined a receptor complex that is required for perception of useful fungis by plants [Gutjahr, Gobbato et al., Science (2015), Choi et al., Nat Commun 2020], and also for plant advancement. Recent data recommend that this signalling path incorporates plant nutrient condition with the skills to engage with the beneficial fungi, incorporating systemic and neighborhood signalling hints. In the forecasted job, a set of single cell technologies will be utilized to check out the interplay between nutrient and symbiosis signalling at cellular resolution in rice.

Candidates should have a strong history in plant genes and genomics, and excel in bioinformatics for big data evaluation; readily available expertise in plant physiology would certainly be useful.

To apply, please email a CURRICULUM VITAE, magazines listing, a CHRIS/ 6 (components I and III only) and the names and contact details (including e-mail addresses) of 3 umpires to Prof Paszkowski at up 220 @cam. ac.uk More info and forms can be found at:
