No job in this world is easy, so is the job of a teacher. I teach Mathematics to school and higher secondary kids. Yes, you heard me right, I deal with teenagers.

Be it any festival or event in the school, as a teacher I am loved, respected and followed by my dear students. Their successes and failures feel like mine. If they do well, I feel I am doing well and vice versa.

Today as I am writing this article, we got the results of Class 12 Board Exams in Assam. All the teachers were eagerly waiting for 9 AM. The time when the results would be out.

We were all seated with our Laptops and printed blank tabulation sheets. Ready to go. Bam! It is 9 AM. Then calls started buzzing on all our phones. Some of us checking results, some are jotting and putting on records while some busy attending calls of parents and students.

Though everyone’s attention is always to the overall results, but being a Maths teacher, me and my other colleague Ajoy Sir who also teaches the same subject was peeping through the gaps in the crowd and buzz of the ‘Results Day’ just to know the marks of students in Maths.

Just half an hour as we were compiling the results, the parents and guardians rushed through in our office out of sheer excitement. Some were popping their heads up, some…
